The exhibition Breaking Ground is a celebration of renewal, transformation, fresh perspectives, and the boundless possibilities of creative expression. It embodies the spirit of breaking barriers, the blossoming of ideas, and the forging of new paths forward.

This inaugural exhibition in Next Generation Arts’ newly expanded space in Scarborough marks a significant milestone, not just for the gallery, but also for the vibrant artistic community that we serve. It is a celebration of growth, offering the opportunity to soar, reflect, and elevate voices through art. Together, we share a moment of new beginnings and transformation for our space, for the Scarborough community, and for the artists whose work defines this pivotal chapter.

This exhibition features works by 25 artists, each offering a personal interpretation of what Breaking Ground means to them. Through diverse mediums, techniques, and cultural lenses, the theme unfolds in powerful and unexpected ways. These selected works reflect the unique voices of our community and reveal the many ways Breaking Ground can be explored, understood, and reimagined.
