Between April and July 2026, Next Generation Arts collaborated with emerging artists aged 16–29 to reimagine the youth space at the Aaniin Community Centre & Library in Southeast Markham through VIEWS: Aaniin, a free public art and mural program. The program aimed to empower local youth through creative expression while fostering a stronger sense of belonging, connection, and pride within their community. Over the course of 11 weekly workshops led by Mariz Pe and NGA’s program leads, participants developed their skills in mural design, painting techniques, cultural storytelling, community engagement, and collaborative art-making, culminating in a large-scale public mural that reflects the identities, lived experiences, and voices of local youth.

A mural unveiling and community celebration was held at Aaniin Community Centre & Library on Friday, July 25, 2026, to celebrate the achievements of the youth artists and reveal the completed mural to the community. The mural now stands as a lasting reflection of the creativity, collaboration, and stories of the participating youth, and community members are invited to visit the space and experience the artwork.
