EXHIBITION: EMPOWERING FACES

  • Clark Centre for the Arts 191 Guildwood Parkway Toronto, ON, M1E 1P4 Canada (map)

From the youth program participants that collaborated and helped to revive the youth space at L’Amoreaux Recreation Community Centre with a mural comes Empowering Faces, a collection of captivating portraits done using each participant’s unique process and style. These portraits provide a visual legacy, fostering connections across time and offering insights into personal narratives.

As a part of Next Generation Arts’ VIEWS (Vision of Inspiring & Empowering Walls in Scarborough), a fourteen-week intensive mural creation program, participants were asked to select an image of an impactful person in their lives to paint. The subjects that were chosen ranged from significant others to strangers whose image struck a deep and personal chord. We invite you to gaze into the minds and inspirations of VIEWS participants.

Join Next Generation Arts for a free public opening reception on Saturday, March 2, from 1pm–3pm. For more information about the Clark Centre for the Arts’ free admission, hours, and directions, visit their website.
