Next Generation Arts invites youth, families, and friends to experience a HEAL workshop at the HEAL Open House! Drop by Next Generation Arts at 1121 Bellamy Rd N., Unit 10 to take part in a casual music and songwriting workshop led by Dan-e-o and experience how the arts can help youth develop resilience and promote healing and wellness. Receive freebies and limited-edition Next Generation Arts merch if you pre-register for the HEAL program in Scarborough, which will run starting April 2024.
Limited-edition Next Generation Arts merchandise will be available at the HEAL Open House! Funds from every purchase will go directly towards the HEAL program. Plus, enjoy light refreshments and get a tour of the Next Generation Arts space and the current photography exhibition, PS Scarborough: Where We’re From.
HEAL is a specialized program for youth ages 14-29 to cultivate youth voice, resilience, and mental health and wellness through creative expression. Through weekly workshops led by trauma-informed artists and facilitators, HEAL provides a safe and supportive space for youth to gather, learn art-making techniques, discover tools to unpack trauma, receive positive mentorship, and promote healing and wellness. In 2024, HEAL will run in Scarborough and in the City of Markham.
